Saturday!

Hi everyone!  It's early Saturday-not sure what we are doing today.  But I wanted to show you a layout I worked on this week.  I found these fabulous vintage photos courtesy of the digital library of congress featuring little children at the zoo.  I just love vintage photos.  Anyway I combined them with a kit from Milly Dee Designs called Animal Magic.  This kit is available at Scrapable and is on sale right now for $1.00-if you can believe that.  It has some fabulous hand drawn/doodled animals and flowers and you really can't beat the price.  I didn't think you could buy anything for a buck!
And here'a a preview of the kit.

Didn't I tell you those were great doodles!  Image is linked for your shopping pleasure!

Vogue by Viva Artistry at the Digichick!

Oh...just getting home from another late night.  Have to say it has been busy at work this week-and I only worked two days!  Imagine if I had actaully had to work the whole week!  Anyway....... I am excited because I finally get to post my Taylor page.  Vogue by Viva Artistry at the Digichick has been released.  While Taylor was here I took this awesome picture of her in a striped hat while we were out bargain shopping.  I couldn't post it till today since the kit hadn't been released yet!

Image is linked for your shopping pleasure!  Here's a preview of the kit!  Gotta love those shoes-now if only I could actually wear them!  Enjoy!

Wednesday!

Well its the last day of my vacation.  My family was in town last week.  We spent the entire week enjoying all that SW Florida had to offer-the beaches, the boating, the shopping....you name it!  But all good things must come to an end and it has ended.  Back to work tomorrow.
Haven't shown any of my Everyday Memories journal pages in awhile.  This one started as an Art Journal page for the Art Journal Caravan at Scrapbookgraphics but instead made it into my Everyday Journal.  The prompt was Amuse and when I found this quote by Dr Suess (he's one of my favorites!) I knew I just had to use one of the photos I took when Jess and I went to Mass.  Down by the library in Springfield they have these fabulous statues of Dr Suess and some of the characters from his books.  I just love 'em.  Anyway I combined them with a kit from Sarah Barber Design called Just for Boys (Sorry folks, I think the kit and all of those fabulous Suess elements has been RETIRED!)

Earth Day Everyday!

Little late posting my Earth Day pages.  Have had family in town and we have been busy
enjoying the Florida sun and fun!  Anyway Viva Artistry at the Digichick has rereleased Terra in honor
of Earth day.  The beautiful blues and greens are perfect for documenting our Florida lifestyle.

And here's my page featuring Jessica, of course, on one of our walks at the beach.

We call her our little tree hugger-she's always after us to conserve water, recycle, and reuse!

Spring has Sprung at Digiridoo Scraps!

Spring has Sprung!  Sarah Barber Design has bundled her Spring Madness kit and brought it to Digiridoo Scraps.  Don't ya just love that name!  Nice bright colors make me wishing I was living up North again and enjoying a true Spring!  Seems we just slide right into summer-not that I am complaining!  Anyway here's a preview of the kit.  Remember image is linked.

And here is my page.

Found this great May day image which symbolized Spring to me.  Art journaling says:  If I had to live my life over, I would start barefoot earlier in the Spring.....The rest of the quote by Nadine Starr reads and stay that way later in the fall.  I would go to more dances, I would ride more merry-go-rounds, I would pick more daisies.  Love it!  Thought these girls looked like they would way rather be out walking barefoot or picking daisies!

If Only...

If only I could stay up late tonight!  My favorite tv show is on tonight and its the two hour premiere.  I am taping it to the DVR.  Gotta love that DVR.  I don't watch much tv but I definately do like the Deadliest Catch.  Can't wait till tomorrow so I can watch it!
Well as promised I am leaving you with the Marvelous Ms Grapefruit.  She is the companion piece to the Fabulous Ms Lemon.  You can never have to much fruit in your life!  Anyway she is created with Citrus Love by Sarah Barber Designs at Digiridoo Scraps.

Got to love her in all of her Vintage loveliness!  Hey, maybe she can hlelp Mike make orange juice.  He is still trying to process all of those oranges we picked  last week!

Monday, Monday

Well it is almost time for bed and I am struggling to figure out which layout to show case this evening.  Since it is creeping up on bedtime I think I will pick something from the desktop of my laptop that I haven't shown you yet.  Well I must agree with Jessica.  It was a choice between the honorable Ms Grapefruit or my lovely little niece Neve.  Jessica says Neve wins hand down so Neve it is.  This photo is from Christmas time when Jess and I went up North to visit Grandma.  And I think you will agree she is adorable.  We will leave Ms Grapefruit for another day.

Viva Artistry's Spring Love

Got to play with the new kit Spring Love my Viva Artistry.  Loved the soft colors in this kit.  Found a great photo at the digital archives of the Library of Congress.  If you look closely you can see the object of this girls affection is hiding in the bushes while she plucks away at her daisy.  Too funny!  Kit is available at the Digichick and image is linked.

Here is a preview of the kit.

Spring Cameo By Sarah Barber Designs

Finished my page with Sarah Barber Designs new kit Spring Cameo which can be found at Digiridoo Scraps.  Lovin the beautiful, soft, spring colors in this one.  Thought it would be perfect for one of the photos I took last week of Jess while orange picking.

I had a quote all picked out for this one-"There is no psychiatrist in the world like a puppy licking your face", Bern Williams-but got carried away with all of the beautiful elements that I ran out of room.  Here's a preview of the full kit which can be found at Digiridoo Scraps.  What's more, it's on sale!  Image is linked!

Finally Friday!

Haven't been around digiland these last few days.  Had problems with my computer-well not really problems but....I was running out of room (too much digi stuff!) and needed to transfeer my digital content to my portable hard drive.  It took forever-did I mention I have too much digi stuff!  Well luckily they have big external hard drives these days.  Anyway....after three days I have finally finished it and more surprising it actually works.
I was finally able to play with the kit Bloomin' from Viva Artistry.  I am a sucker for stitches and the embroidery in these elements is awesome.  I needed something to finish this layout for The Art Journal Caravan and these elements were just the something I needed.  Kind of reminds me of a crazy quilt-without the work!

On a more personal note Jess had testing at school this week.  It is her schools version of the FCAT's.  That meant no homework for one whole week.  Today they celebrated by going downtown to Tin City to see the replica of the Columbus ships-The Nina and The Pinta (not sure what happened to the Santa Maria!)  Anyway I armed her with a camera so hopefully I will have some photos so show you!

Art Journal

Playing in the art journal this week and ended up with the following creation.  I did this for the Art Journal Caravan using Dream with a Dream by Sarah Barber Design at Digiridoo Scraps.  I just loved the images of these five gals.  Image is linked to kit at shop.  Enjoy!

Some of you may have noticed I have another cool new blinkie!  I have been chosen to be on the Creative Team of Viva Artistry.  I am beyond excited!  I absolutely love their style and am looking forward to playing with thier designs.  I am so excited I can barely contain myself.  I wanted to play today but ......
It was such a nice day out that Mike was getting a little antsy and needed to get out for a few hours.  We ended up driving to the farmers market in Immokalee.  He just loves that place.  Not sure if it the vegetables he likes or the thrill of the bargain.  Today we got yellow squash, corn, and tomatoes.  The tomatoes were the best.  Kind of like I remember them from when Mike and I used to grow them up North.  Nice and red and juicy.  I am going to make some candied tomatoes (A la Susan Sommers) and some pico de gallo tomorrow.  Tonight we just enjoyed them plain with a little bit of mayo.  After the farmers market we decided to go to a uPick citrus place.  It was way out there in Estero.  The sign kept saying 5 miles than it was 5 more miles.  All on shell/sand road.  I never thougtht we would find our way back.  In fact when we pulled into the drive we almost turned around.  I thought we had entered another time zone.  It was fun and the place was colorful.  They gave us a big bucket and a large hook.  You need the hook to pull the oranges off the tree.  When they drop to the ground you pick them up and put them in your bucket.

The oranges we picked were Valencia's.  They gave us a sample before we started picking to make sure we liked them.

As you can see we liked them alot and proceeded to pick an entire bucket full.  Mike and I really didn't have the proper footwear on.  There was lots of ant piles so we had to be careful.  Luckily Jess wore sneakers and none of us got bit.  Not to worry though-they had ammonia available in case we did.  I will have to remember that one!

My little animal lover Jess met a friend while she was at the orchard.  His name is Bob.  Won't Simon be mad!  If you need any fruit or vegetables be sure to stop buy-We have plenty!
