Thursday!

Its late Thursday and I am getting ready to pack it in.  Stayed up too late last night watching Idol.  It was worth it.  Can't say I was surprised at the ending.  But the show was fabulous.  Worth every minute of the sleepiness I felt today.  Going through my pages trying to see what I haven't shown you yet.

Looks like it going to be the pizza ovens!  These photos were taken while Jess and Sofia practiced making pizza ovens for Girl scout camp.  Aunt Judy wanted to make sure that the girls could do the project so Sofia and Jess took it for a dry run.  The project was doable but....when they were placed out in the sun the sticks kept popping, closing the covers and....our pizzas were raw!  Yuck.  They looked really gross.  Now I am not sure that you are supposed to leave them while you go to the Greek Festival and eat grape leaves while shouting OPA!  But they were pretty much inedible.  The next day we recycled them and used them to cook Nachos.  Much Better!  In fact the girls finished the first batch and wanted another.  Guess if you leave cheese in the sun it will melt!  On that note......

Its all About Him!

Well I am a litlle late in posting my Father Says page from the About Him kit by Viva Artistry at the Digichick.  Got caught up in the hoopla of Sofia's 12th Birthday and the Preakness Horse racing.  We had a couple of winners at our house!  Yeah!  Makes it all the more fun!  But.......Its all About Him!  New release this week-just in time for Fathers Day.  This new kit by Viva Artisty celebrates all thd Dad's out there.  With its Vintage feel it is perfect for today's photos as well as yesterdays.  Here is my page.

If you look closely you can see dear old dad's feet sticking out of the buggy-he's fixing something!
Now here's the kit previews.  You can find the kit here at the Digi Chick  http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/About-Him.html

Hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!

Half way there!

Can't believe that it is Wednesday all ready.  Not sure where the week went.  Getting ready for Sofia's birthday this week combined with a Preakness party.  Haven't even had time to check out the horses yet.  Not sure who I am going to bet on.  But the cake is ordered for the party-ice cream cake from the Royal Scoop.  That is sure to be delicious!  Sofia picked out vanilla with peppermint stick!  Yummy!  For dinner Sofia wants Auntie Margaret's steak sandwiches.  I hate to admit that they are really Sam's steak sandwiches.  They make the best minute steaks.  Anything for Sofia!
Thought I would share these scrap pages of Jessica's room redo.  We actually redid her room awhile ago but I never took any photos.  What she is most proud of is the recent closet redo.  She conned her dad into helping her put these shelves up so each of her horses would have a place of its own.  I love it because the horses are no longer all over the floor.  And speaking of horses I need to take some photos of the Preakness display Jess and her friend did.  They converted our Easter Egg tree into a horse lovers delight!

I spent last night working on a page for Viva Artistry's new kit scheduled for release this week.  Can't wait to show it to you.  It is a Fathers Day theme kit and I am sure that you are going to love it as much as I do.  Check back tomorrow for previews and my page.

Tuesday!

Not much going on today.   I am taking a photo editing class.  Trying to learn how to use my new Photoshop program.  Everytime I open it I get intimidated and run back to my Creative Memories Storybook Creator program.  Now don't get my wrong...I love Storybook Creator but.....there are a few things I can't do with it.  Mainly edit photos.  It is a great program to design with but I can't use it to manipulate photos like I want to.  It won't let you run actions or add any of that really cool bookuh!  If thats even how you spell it.  You all know from my previous post that I can't spell!  Anyway I am taking a class by Elisha Snow on editing photos in photoshop and I must say that I learned a lot on the very first lesson.  She taught us how to warm our photos up-lightening and brightening them.  What a difference.  At first I wasn't sure because I am so used to seeing my photos with a blue grey tinge.  Now I know how they get all of that fantastic color!  A little bit of photoshop.  Here is my first attempt.  Now I realize that I am going to have to go back and fix all of my journal pages for the year!

And here's another.

Mothers Day!

Wanted to take a momment to wish all of the Mother's out there a Happy Mother's Day! Including all of those who have nutured or guided a child in your lifetime! You will never know the impact that you have made.  Enjoy your day-hopefully with the ones you love!
Yesterday was my father-in-laws 80th birthday.  We celebrated his bday and mothers day together with a family barbecue.  Mike cooked hamburgers, hotdogs and brats on the grill, we smoked some chicken, Judy made sliders, and Bootie brought the cake.  Oh, and don't forget Joe with the champagne.  Can't have a toast without champagne!  We also found and rescued a dog.  Poor thing was visiting family and escaped.  Her tag was really hard to read and we had to guess at the numbers.  Luckily after several attempts we found her owner-they came right over to get her as they had been searching the neighborhood for her.  Poor Simon didn't even know that there was a strange dog in our garage. We even made time to place a few bets on the Kentucky Derby.  Judy was the big winner with the rest of us being LOSERS!  I should of had more confidence in Animal Kingdom-they have certainly taken enough of my money over the years I could of actually gotten some back! Can you believe-all that in one day!
And not only is it Mothers day but iNSD!  That stands for international scrapbook day. One of my favorite days of the year.  It usually means shopping and sales. Alot of the designers and shops are having sales.  Viva Artistry at the Digichick is no exception.  Plus if you stop by thier blog at http://vivaartistry.blogspot.com/ you can pick up a coupon for an additional 10% off.  To make it even easier I have copied the coupon code below.

This is one of my favorite kits-Vogue.  Love that black and red and best of all it's on sale too!
And finally I will leave you with a  page or two.  I scrapped these after a trip to the Greek festival with my two favorite girls.

Enjoy your Mothers Day!

Lazy Sunday!

Was waiting to post-I thought one of my designers was going to release a mini kit today-some tags and some art journal paper starters and was going to post my creations.  But....I don't see that she released it  so I guess you are all stuck with some of my Everyday journal pages.  I worked like a fiend this weekend-lots of catching up to do.  Still sticking with the less is more theme and concentrating on getting the memory journaled.  Today I have Jessica's induction into the National Junior Honor Society and the last of our beach pages from January.  I have now started on February-Yeah!

Got to say that I am loving those art journaling fonts from Tangie Baxter at Scrapbookgraphics.  This one-Mad Hatter I think its called-is my new go to favorite.  Those fabulous arrows are from Viva Artistry's new Vogue kit.  I feel like I have been using them everywhere-that's how much I love them.

Oops....I am just looking at this layout and thinking I spelled raccoon wrong.  Gotta at least look at the spell check.  I am going to fix the original but will leave you with this one for now.  Again, font is from Tangie, Arrows from Viva Artistry, paper and other elements from Milly Dee Design.  What was that I said about the smart kids?  Guess I am not hanging with them!
